Hand & Wrist

header hand and wrist

If pain and soreness in your hands or wrists make it difficult to complete even a simple task, the orthopedic specialists in our Hand Center are here to help. Our providers receive additional training in treating specific conditions that affect hands and wrists, including carpel tunnel syndrome, arthritis, trauma, fractures, ligament dysfunction, and tendon and nerve injuries.

Understanding Common Hand Problems

Rheumatoid Arthritis—chronic inflammation of the joint lining. This form of arthritis causes pain, swelling, and stiffness. In some cases, it can enter and damage the bone and cartilage.

Osteoarthritis—breaking down of the joint’s cartilage or the moving parts of the joints. When this happens in the hand, it affects the small joints of the fingers and the base joint of the thumb.

Other Injuries—including diseases or injuries of the bones, joints, nerves, tendons, including:

  • Amputations
  • Arthritis of the Hand
  • Basal Joint Arthritis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Crush Injuries
  • Hand Fractures
  • Nerve Injuries
  • Peripheral Nerve Lesions
  • Repetitive Motion Injuries
  • Rheumatoid Disease
  • Soft Tissue Injuries (including: sprains, strains, contusions)
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Trigger Finger
  • Wrist Sprains and Fractures

Request an appointment with one of our hand specialists if you’re experiencing any of these hand or wrist symptoms. We will help you put an end to your pain and discomfort.

Your Evaluation and Treatment

Our team of certified hand therapists will work with you to develop a personal treatment plan and set goals to meet your therapeutic needs. We consider your lifestyle, goals, and occupation when developing your personalized treatment program so that we can help you return to your normal lifestyle as quickly as possible.

About Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Surgery

Carpal Tunnel is one of the most common hand problems we see and the most successfully treated. To treat Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, we use a technique called mini-open release surgery. Because it’s minimally invasive, you’ll experience a faster recovery time with less scarring and pain.

We also offer specialized surgical and non-surgical techniques for other injuries:

  • Fracture repair
  • Hand/finger joint replacement
  • Nerve repair
  • Tendon repair
  • Wrist arthroscopy

Contact us if you’d like to learn more about our treatments for hand and wrist injuries—we will gladly get your questions answered.
