More Than 400 Participants Helped Make the 2014 Jingle Bell Run a Success

The 17th annual Jingle Bell Run was held Saturday, November 22, 2014, on a course that began at St. Cloud Orthopedics. This year a 1K Fun Run followed the customary 5K race, and for the first time participants received real-time, immediate finish results.

The official numbers include:
477 Total Participants
61 Participants for the 1K Fun Run
416 Participants for the 5K Run/Walk
661 Total Toys Donated to Toys for Tots
Over $3,000 Donated to the Toys for Tots Program

“This is an especially meaningful time of year for whole families and individual runners to support a special cause,” said St. Cloud Orthopedics Practice Administrator Bill Worzala. “Toys for Tots is a household name, and this particular event serves people in need who are right here in our area. It’s a great way to give back to our own community.”

After the event, local members of the Marine Corps delivered the toy donations to Toys for Tots. “We are proud to work with the Marines to execute the mission of Toys for Tots,” Worzala said. “The Jingle Bell Run is really about creating a greater awareness of the Toys for Tots program and other charitable events, especially around the holidays.”

“We are incredibly grateful for the good turnout—including whole families who participated together—and especially for all of the toy donations for local kids,” said Worzala. “Thank you to everyone who came out and joined in.”

Sponsors of the event included St. Cloud Orthopedics, CentraCare Bone and Joint Center, BLEND, and Agency 128. Click the image below to see a video from the St. Cloud Times.
