Congrats to Chad Ritter, New Director of PT & OT

Chad Ritter, MPT, AT-C
is the new Director/Supervisor of Rehabilitation Services, overseeing all Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Athletic Training at the Orthopedic Sports Center.

Chad has been with St. Cloud Orthopedics for 18 years, since 2003, working as both a Physical Therapist and a Certified Athletic Trainer for all of Sports Medicine, including injuries of the knee, hip, ankle, shoulder, and spine. In his new role, he will continue providing patient care as well as continue covering local high school events, including Sartell High School Football, and Sartell High School Hockey for both the Men’s and Women’s teams.

Chad was born and raised in Sartell and returned to work at St. Cloud Orthopedics after receiving his Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Minnesota.

When longtime Director Tom Jensen (TJ) announced his retirement after more than 40 years this spring, Chad applied for the position, which was opened both internally and externally. Accepting the position is a career highlight for him.

“It’s something I’ve been interested in for years; a position I’ve hoped to get into because it allows me to continue to be involved in the community,” said Chad. “I couldn’t think of a better person than TJ to help me prepare for the role.”

TJ and Chad go way back. TJ was Chad’s Athletic Trainer when he played high school football and baseball for Sartell. He also taught the Intro to Sports Medicine Class that introduced Chad to the medical field as a career option. As a colleague, Chad continued to learn from TJ.

“TJ was not only a mentor, but also a friend,” Chad said. “He taught me a lot.”
